24, 48 or 72 hours: which ticket to buy

What each ticket length costs in every city, and how much you pay for the second day.

  • One loop takes between one and two and a half hours, so 24 hours covers a full loop and three or four stops.
  • Add the second day when it costs little and the city has a second route you want to ride.
  • Check whether the ticket runs for 24 hours from first use or only until the last bus of that calendar day.

City by city

Miniature model of Amsterdam with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the 24 hour ticket if you buy one at all. It costs €27.50 for adults and €14.75 for children aged 4 to 12, and it runs for 24 hours from the first boarding.

The 48 hour ticket is €37 for adults and €18.50 for children. A full loop takes 65 minutes, so one day is enough to ride it once and get off three or four times.

The second day only makes sense with the bus and boat ticket, because the boat loop alone takes 2 hours. City Sightseeing does not sell a 72 hour ticket in Amsterdam.

Miniature model of Athens with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the two-day ticket, because there is nothing shorter. It costs €20 for an adult and €6 for a child aged 4 to 12, and it runs for two days from first use.

The three-day ticket has a list price of €28 and €10 for a child. On 5 October 2026 the operator's site was selling the three-day adult ticket for €20, the same as two days.

A third day only earns its keep if you use the beach lines or the Piraeus line. The city loop itself takes 1 hour 30 minutes and one day on it is enough.

Miniature model of Barcelona with an orange sightseeing bus

There are two tickets, 24 hours at €29.70 and 48 hours at €39.60 online, and no 72-hour option. Each route takes about 2 hours without getting off, so riding both is 4 hours of sitting before you visit anything.

In 24 hours you can do one route with three or four stops properly, or both routes as a ride with one or two stops. If you want to get off on Montjuïc and also reach Park Güell and Pedralbes, buy the 48-hour ticket.

The extra day costs €9.90. The ticket runs for consecutive hours from first use, so a ticket started at 15:00 is still valid the next morning.

Miniature model of Berlin with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the 48-hour Classic ticket. It costs €26.10 against €24.30 for 24 hours, so the second day is €1.80.

With a 2.5 hour loop and the last full loop leaving stop 1 at 16:00, one day gives you the circuit plus two or three stops at most. Two days let you ride the full loop on day one and use the bus as transport on day two.

Online tickets are tied to the dates you select. There is no 72-hour ticket.

If you want the Wall sites, the combined two-line ticket is €28.80 for 24 hours and €32.40 for 48.

Miniature model of Brussels with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the 48 hour ticket if you are in Brussels for two days. It costs €26.25 for adults and €18.75 for children, against €24.75 and €17.25 for 24 hours.

The 72 hour ticket is €27.75 for adults and €20.25 for children. One day is enough for the Red Route, which takes about 1 hour and has 6 stops.

The Atomium shuttle takes about 1 hour 45 minutes for the circuit and leaves only four times a day, so it uses up half a day by itself. With a 24 hour ticket, start after lunch and you can ride the 10:00 shuttle the next morning.

Miniature model of Budapest with an orange sightseeing bus

The three tickets are €39, €44 and €49, so the price barely moves with the length. For a single day the 24h Discover ticket is expensive for seven hours of service, from 10:00 to 17:00.

The 48h Essential ticket is the sensible one: €5 more buys a second day, enough to do Pest and Heroes' Square on one and the Buda side on the other. The 72h Explore ticket at €49 only pays off if you plan to use the bus as your transport for three days, and in that case compare it with BKK's 72-hour travelcard at 5,750 Ft, about €15.60.

Miniature model of Dublin with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the 48-hour Essential ticket if you buy one at all. It costs €36.90 for adults, only €5.40 more than the €31.50 Discover ticket for 24 hours.

The Essential ticket adds a second day and the 1-hour Night Tour, which costs €26 on its own. The 72-hour Explore ticket costs €60.30 for adults and €44.10 for children, and the extra money pays for a day trip by coach to Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains.

Take it only if you want that trip, which costs €39 booked separately. A child ticket is €17.10 for either 24 or 48 hours.

Miniature model of Edinburgh with an orange sightseeing bus

There is no 72 hour ticket. The 24 hour Discover ticket (£22 adult, £12 child) covers the Red Route only, and that is enough for most visits because the loop is 1 hour 10 minutes.

The 48 hour Essential ticket (£27) buys a second day on the same route for £5 more. The 48 hour Explore ticket (£30) is the only one that includes the Blue Route to Leith, Newhaven and the Botanic Garden.

Buy Discover if you have one day. If you have two, buy Explore and skip Essential: the extra £3 adds the Royal Yacht Britannia stop, which is more than 3 km from Princes Street.

Miniature model of Florence with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the 24 hour ticket if you buy one at all. It costs €23.20 online and covers the one line that runs, a loop of about 60 minutes.

The 48 hour ticket is €28 and the 72 hour ticket is €31.20. With Line B to Fiesole suspended, a second day gives you the same 13 stops again.

The extra €4.80 for 48 hours only makes sense if you want a second ride up to Piazzale Michelangelo on another day.

Miniature model of Lisbon with an orange sightseeing bus

The 24h ticket is €22 and covers one route, so in practice it is a Belém day: the loop takes 1h50 without getting off, and with three stops in Belém you will use most of the 09:00 to 19:00 service. The 48h ticket is €28 and covers both routes, which makes it the better buy for anyone staying two days, since the second day costs €6.

The 72h option is a different product, the All-in-One Pass at €47, with two tram tours and a 2 hour river boat on top of the buses. Buy it only if you want the boat and the tram tour, because the buses alone do not fill three days.

Miniature model of London with an orange sightseeing bus

Big Bus sells four plain tickets and none of them lasts 72 hours. The One Day ticket (£32 adult, £19 child) is valid only on the date you pick, until the last bus.

The Discover ticket (£36.99, child £29.99) runs 24 hours from first use and adds the one-way river cruise, so boarding at 13:00 gets you the next morning as well. The Essential ticket (£46.99, child £36.99) runs 48 hours and adds three guided walks.

If you only want the loop once, buy the One Day ticket. If you want the boat, the extra £4.99 for Discover is the better deal.

Two days pays off only if you treat the Blue Route to Kensington as a second day out.

Miniature model of Madrid with an orange sightseeing bus

Tickets are sold for 24 hours (€29.70 online) and 48 hours (€39.60 online). There is no 72-hour ticket.

The three loops take about 85, 70 and 75 minutes, so riding everything without getting off is close to 4 hours. In 24 hours you can do Route 1 with two or three stops and one of the other routes as a straight ride.

The 48-hour ticket, €9.90 more, makes sense only if you want to get off on Routes 2 and 3 as well, for the Bernabéu tour or Las Ventas. Because validity runs from first use, a ticket started after lunch covers the next morning too.

Miniature model of Milan with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the 48 hour ticket if you want more than two of the four lines. It costs €27 online, €4.50 more than the €22.50 ticket for 24 hours.

The four loops add up to 4 hours 20 minutes of riding before you get off anywhere, which does not fit in one day with visits. The 72 hour ticket is €31.50.

It only earns its price on a summer weekend, when it includes the €19 night tour. For a single day, pick the Blue and Yellow lines and skip the Green line's 90 minute gaps.

Miniature model of Munich with an orange sightseeing bus

For one day in the centre, the 24 hour Express Ticket at €24.30 is enough. It covers the 7 stops of the Green Tour, and the loop takes 1 hour.

Add €4.50 for the 24 hour Grand Ticket (€28.80) if you want Nymphenburg Palace or the Olympic Park, which the Express does not reach. The only 48 hour ticket is the Grand, at €34.60 for an adult and €18 for a child.

It makes sense when you give Nymphenburg and BMW Welt a day of their own. There is no 72 hour ticket.

Miniature model of New York with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the 48-hour Essential ticket if you want the bus to reach Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum. The 24-hour Discover ticket costs $62 for adults and $52 for children, and it covers the Downtown Loop only.

The Essential ticket costs $83 for adults and $73 for children, and it adds the Uptown Loop and the 2-hour Night Tour. The 72-hour Explore ticket costs $99 for adults and $89 for children, and it adds a Circle Line cruise from Pier 83.

With the Uptown bus running once an hour, a second day is the realistic way to use both loops. If one downtown ride is all you want, the $62 ticket is enough.

Miniature model of Paris with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the 24-hour Discover Ticket at €39 if all you want is the loop and three or four stops. The clock starts when you activate the ticket, so boarding at 13:00 gives you that afternoon and the next morning.

The 48-Hour Ticket is €49, which is €10 more for a second day, and makes sense only if the bus is your main transport on both days. There is no 72-hour ticket.

If you want the river cruise, compare the 24-hour Essential Ticket at €49 with the 48-hour Explore Ticket at €64.

Miniature model of Porto with an orange sightseeing bus

Buy the 48 hour ticket if you will ride on a second day at all. It costs €30 for adults and €15 for children, against €28 and €14 for 24 hours.

The extra €2 also buys a night bus tour and a second guided walk. Both tickets run from first validation, so a 24 hour ticket started at 14:00 is good until 14:00 the next day.

City Sightseeing Porto sells no 72 hour ticket. The 48 hour ticket with the Six Bridges boat trip is €48, which prices the 50 minute boat at €18.

Miniature model of Rome with an orange sightseeing bus

If you do buy, the 24-hour ticket at €28.05 is enough for what this bus is good at: one full loop and two or three hops. The 48-hour ticket is only €5.10 more at €33.15 and the 72-hour €39.10, so the extra days are cheap, but the loop does not change and the last yellow bus leaves at 16:25.

The 1 Day ticket at €22.95 saves €5.10 if you start at 09:00, and loses value fast if you board after lunch because it ends with the last bus that evening. The One Loop ticket at €15.30 suits people who only want the ride and the commentary.

Miniature model of Seville with an orange sightseeing bus

If you buy at all, the 48 hour ticket is the better deal. It costs €33 for adults and €17 for children, against €28 and €14 for 24 hours.

The extra €5 buys a second day, two more guided walks, 30 minutes of bike hire and the Sevilla FC stadium tour. Both tickets run from first use, so a 24 hour ticket started at 15:00 is good until 15:00 the next day.

City Sightseeing Seville sells no 72 hour ticket. The 24 hour ticket is enough if all you want is one 75 minute loop and the two included walks.

Miniature model of Vienna with an orange sightseeing bus

Service runs for about seven hours a day and the two loops take 2 hours 55 minutes of riding between them, so a 24-hour ticket at €37 really buys one day in which you ride both lines and get off three or four times. The 48-hour Essential ticket at €42.30 costs €5.30 more and lets you give the blue line and Schönbrunn their own day, which is how the palace is best seen anyway.

That is the one to buy. The 72-hour Explore ticket at €51.30 adds a third day and a guided walking tour.

Few visitors need the bus for three days in a city where the centre is walkable.
